Q: Are herbal remedies safe? A: In general herbal remedies are safe and seldom cause problems. The majority of emergency room visits occur due to problems with NutraSweet and Tylenol. Plants have been used as medicines for thousands of years demonstrating their effectiveness with side effects and contradictions well documented. Always use herbs with great care and respect. Many herbs have a gentle action producing more of a tonic effect and can be useful on a daily basis. Other plants are more powerful and are used more occasionally on a limited basis. When considering the use of any herb do your own research. Gather information about its usefulness, effectiveness, dosage and precautions. Look at historical and traditional uses. Confirm the scientific name and look for agreement between the experts that you choose. Due to their medicinal actions, herbs can interfere with the effectiveness of prescription medications or can have an additive effect amplifying the effects of both. Employ careful consideration and use your own innate common sense before using any herb. Click Here to ask your question.
